Apr. 10, 2007 - PETA Action in Kaunas against the Cruel Treatment of Birds by KFC

On the 10th of April, Tuesday, 14.00–16.00 a group of Lithuanian animal rights activists were gathered in Daukanto str., Kaunas, in order to draw public attention to the cruel treatment of birds used as poultry products for the American giant KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) fast food chain.

Every year KFC purchases 800 thousand chickens from factory farms. Since 2001, PETA have been trying to raise concerns inside KFC about animal welfare and have also demanded the raising of the requirements for the poultry suppliers like this one.
